Join this class for a hands-on experience of decorating the magnificent Red Hat University Float that will be proudly displayed in the Sister Bay Fall Festival Parade on Saturday, October 15th. We are going for the GUSTO! Bring along with you anything Purple and Red/Pink and Lavender that you think might enhance our unique creations. (Yes, of course we need TWO Floats; one for the Red and one for the Pink!) You will become an expert float designer and car decorator as a result of this full day of creativity. We will be looking forward to bringing home the GRAND PRIZE and TROPHY from Sister Bay's Fall Festival Parade! Lunch and Refreshments served throughout the day.- Humor & Laughter Catered In. GEOGRAPHY 101 Time: 2:30-5:30 p.m. Cost: $30.00 WOMEN WHO WINE ARE FINE!  This is An Official Red Hatters Fine Wine Education Clinic! We will travel by trolley, 2,500 miles northeast of Napa - right smack into the middle of the Door Peninsula and the finest Wineries of the century. Our event will include a description of the wine industry, wine production, and a wine tasting of both red and white wines. Breads, crackers & cheeses and various little 'tasters' will compliment the wine selections. We will tour two wineries. CREDITS: 1 Credit for each wine tasted; 10 or more wine tasting  =12 credits if you can still go under the limbo stick.

We will study the quick fix of an All American Pizza Feast. With our busy schedule, we will 'wedge in' some of Door County's Famous Pizza - it's a favorite on the RHU Campus! Enough Food & Drink provided to sustain you through the evening classes.

SCIENCE- 101 EXPLORING THE NIGHT SKY - In YOUR SPIFFY RED HAT

We will travel together on the Door County Trolley to Crossroads of Big Creek where the Door County Peninsula Astronomical Society will introduce you to the wonders of the night sky through stunning multi-media presentations in the Collins Learning Center. If the night is clear, the group will then move to the Leif Everson Observatory and Star Garden for a Door County Astronomical Experience. Learn to read the skies and appreciate the magnificent aura around us.
CREDITS: 3; 4 if your Hat shines with any resemblance to the night skies.

GOOD HUMOR CLASS 101 6:30 - 9:00 P.M. COST: $15.00
Here is your opportunity to collaborate with your red hat sorority sisters, bringing out Your Quick Wit and Writing Skills! We will build our own red hat/purple passion advertisements of choice. Wake up with a splash! Bring your Varsity Spirit to Stone Harbor Swimming Pool this morning and 'kick' off the Red Hat University Convention in Mermaid Style! Our 'move at your own pace' aqua aerobics class will be led by a local Professional Instructor - here to guide us through some gentle water exercises, paced to whatever pace you wish to move! Prefer sitting on deck in your purple suit and red bathing cap and watch the water move? That is acceptable, too! There will be plenty of chairs and tables to pull up to and enjoy the morning coffee. Song and Laughter will echo off the water - No Megaphones necessary!

Start out this morning with A Fall harvest of panoramic colors~ rusts, oranges, reds, golds and purples; the splendor of fall colors topped only by the beauty of the red hat! Coggin Heerings, naturalist and professor, will awaken our senses to the beauty and magnificence of our Door County Autumn Season while sharing the the Science Behind The Magestic Forest. Your enjoyment of Door County Autumn will be enhanced by learning how and why leaves change color in the fall. Multi-Media Presentations in the beautiful Collins Learning Center at Crossroads at Big Creek will increase your understanding. Following the indoor presentation, an optional hike into the preserve will help you get in touch with nature (and walk off our bountiful breakfast) Transportation provided.

KITCHEN COUNTERPOINT-LESS PERCUSSION-KAZOO BAND! Sound off! However, do it to music. Feel the beat, or better yet, MAKE IT! Be creative and bring some favorite kitchen/bathroom noisemakers or percussive instruments to resound in a musical ensemble extraordinaire. Get rid of your frustrations and gain new insights into ways to shake, rattle and blow!  This class will be taught by Sharon Carlson, a humdinger of a Nose flutist and bang up kazoo-ist. She is the Talent Director of OUT OF THE BOX for the Disney Channel, and Adjunct Professor of Voice at both Roosevelt University and Columbia College.  Think how fantastic you'll be in The Red and Purple Band creating merry music with pot and pan lid cymbals, popping plungers, snapping rubber gloves, kitchen sink hoses, funnels, paper towel rolls, conch shell….whatevah! Be creative. Bring something to shake, and rattle, and Sharon will help you roll the conglomeration into a fun-filled musical (?) ensemble. Add to the mix, a plethora of kitchy kazoos and schnozoos. Why not? The Result: The Red Hat Scrape-Bang-Blow Humdingers! Kazoos and Schnozoos provided. Smiles Guaranteed! Each class is a two hour class and is limited to 25 students per class. Bring out those batons! We are about to pull the most infamous red hat twirlers together for a grand performance! If you have dust on your twirling stick, or have never held a baton in your hand (life time wanna-be) - Here is your big opportunity to JOIN UP!  INFAMOUS & FORMER PACKER MAJORETTE & ORIGINAL GOLDEN GIRL (long before the Golden Girls showed up on your TV Screen) Mary Jane VanDyse Sorgel, will lead us in our Twirling Class today. What a fun day this will be……twirling, throwing in the air, dropping!, picking up, over the head sort of marching morning! FUN!  Bring a baton; if you don't own a baton, a dowel the length of your arm will make do. We will provide purple and red adornments to add color to your baton performance. No Majorette would be complete without a Majorette's hat (included with the class) YOU BE THE SPARK!

MUSIC 103 RED AND PURPLE STAR SEARCH

Everyone has a little singer locked inside who is just waiting to be discovered. Let your little repressed warbler JUMP out of the shower. Trade the towel for a Boa, and Leap into the Spot Light during the Red Hat University Weekend.
This class will be taught by Sharon Carlson, award winning Cabaret Artist, Singer, Actor, Talent Director of OUT OF THE BOX for The Disney Channel, and Adjunct Professor of Voice at both Roosevelt University and Columbia College. Sharon will help you create a 3-5 minute performance piece to be performed at the Red hat University First Annual Reunion. Bring favorite sheet music, your wildest boa, brightest sequin and rhinestone accoutrements, and get set to take center stage for a song show. (NOT to be confused with the GONG Show!)
This class is limited to the FIRST 15 students.

RED HAT University HIP HOP POM Time: 1:00 -3:30 p.m. Cost: $25.00 Heavy on the HIP! Didn't you have pompom squads in your day? Well, here's your opportunity! Long time professional, Mary Jane VanDyse Sorgel, will push you over the edge at RHU with style and polish! Mary Jane will trade in her infamous Green and Gold Packer uniform for the ALL NEW RED HAT UNIVERSITY POM POM Charter Squad. We will work with the beautiful Red and Purple Pom Poms provided in this class and will enjoy learning some very special and FUN Red Hat routines. CREDITS: 3; 5 credits if you take the class and perform in Saturday's Parade.

MARITIME HISTORY 101 Time: 2:00-4:00 p.m. Cost: $28.00
Red Hat Ladies Gather for a Cruise on The Red Hot Fire Boat! The Chicago Fire Boat is ready to pick us up on the dock at Stone Harbor Resort, and give us a tour of the Sturgeon Bay waters. We will travel through the channel exploring the Green Bay waters and learning maritime facts and fiction. Upon our return cruise, we will go out into Lake Michigan before returning back to Stone Harbor. No need to duck as we go under our bridges, but you might want to Grab your letter jacket to meet the breezes out on the water. 
CREDITS: 3; 4 if you show signs of weakness on the water and stick it thru to the end.

PARADING 102 TIME: Depart Stone Harbor at 9:00 a.m. Cost: $15.00
We will be traveling by coach and/or trolley from Sturgeon Bay to Sister Bay. We will be lining up for the Sister Bay Parade at 10:00 a.m. We will exercise our Cheerleading voices, spit a little into our kazoos, stretch out those hamstrings, and get read to PARADE at 11:00 a.m. This small town parade usually lasts about a half hour; we expect to double that time by adding The Red Hat University Performances!! Come along and make Red Hat Northern Door County History!  Noon - 4:00 p.m. Fall Festival Celebrations - art and craft show; enjoy the many food and beverage booths and entertainment located on Main Street in Sister Bay.  A 'Shop 'til you drop' Kind of day!  Transportation will be available to take you back to Stone Harbor every hour on the hour starting at 1 PM. Last coach/trolley leaves promptly at 4:00 p.m. Be on Board!
