Rubber Stamping and Scrapbooking Classes

The name of the game is Creativity; the plan is for each of YOU to join in the fun of applying ink to paper and becoming the next Picasso! Oscar is ready to share her expertise at the Classroom table. Classes will be scheduled for Tuesday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. and also by appointment.

 
• Class #1 - Stamping 101 - Learn the basics of rubber stamp art; we will study hands on - the affects of dye based inks with varied papers. We will experience the following techniques: direct to paper, shadow stamping, and creative backgrounds. This is a wonderful introduction to stamping and will provide a wealth of information re: techniques that you will take with your throughout your stamping career. You will finish a minimum of 6 projects in this class.Cost: $20.00 (includes all materials)
• Class #2 - Stamping 102 - We will introduce Pigment inks and their applications, work with the heat embossing process, and experience different color medias to include water based markers, alcohol based markers, blending pen, and chalks. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to create three beautiful cards for all occasions. (ex.= Birthday, Get Well, Congratulations, Friendship) Cost: $20.00 (includes all materials)
• Class #3 - Humor is a Woman's Best Friend! - We will explore the world of stamping with our collection of fun caricature style - crazy and zany lady stamps! We will have an exercise in coordinating words and designs, resulting in as many different ideas, as we have stampers! We will highlight our artwork with the Art Institute of Glitter system. Glamour and Glitz is what these ladies are all about! Cost of Class: $20.00 Includes all materials
• Class #4 - Door County Lighthouse Workshop - We will create 4 different Door County Lighthouse Cards in this class. We will combine our Door County Lighthouse Stamps, along with the wonderful Door County Custom Background Papers to set this card series collection apart from all others! Be ready to add dimension to your cards by layering with a variety of materials found in and around the home and craft area! Cost of Class: $20.00. (Includes all materials)
• Class #5 - Watercolor Workshop - A watercolor workshop with rubber stamps? You Bet! Learn to utilize many of your stamp supplies as a watercolor media. Create your own color palette from your stamp pads, brush art markers, water color pencils and more, we will create a series of cards that will be totally enhanced by water color techniques. We will be working with a wide selection of Door County Rubber Stamps to include a selection of Word Stamps to complete this class. Cost of Class: $20.00 (Includes all materials)
• Class #6 - You're in the "Spotlight"! - There are so many ways to make your rubber stamp art 'stand out' and take THE SPOTLIGHT! We will create several stamped art pieces by utilizing a double stamped image to layer and spotlight a specific area of a card; we will spotlight by highlighting with Ultra thick embossing powders; we will utilize the clear Dome Stickers to show special spotlights and we will frame our spotlight with Style Stone's Picture Frames. A wonderful variety of ideas expressed! Cost of Class: $20.00 (All materials included)
• Class #7 - Pre-Scrapbook 101 Class - If you would like to get yourself organized and ready to scrapbook your photos, join us for a round table of discussion to get you ready to meet the art of creative scrapbooking. We will discuss the different sized format choices, the process of organizing your photos for scrapbook display, cutting tools, framing options, and proper adhesives. There is much to learn along the road to scrapbooking, but you don't need to be an expert to get started. This pre-scrapbook organizational class will be a time of sharing multiple ideas so that you can feel comfortable to come into the Scrapbooking 101 class and experience success on your first venture! Cost: $5.00
• Class #8 - Scrapbooking 101 - Always wanted to create a wonderful scrapbook of memories, but just didn't know where to start? This class is a beginning course that will offer guidelines to getting your first scrapbook pages started. Bring along with you 24 photos, preferably one theme to start with. (Example: Birthday celebration, First day of School, Family Reunion, Graduation, etc. We won't be working with seasonal holiday themes in this class). We will create 2 double layouts (4 pages total). We will utilize the 12" x 12" size format. Our pages will be color coordinated, will offer extra embellishments to add dimension and style, and will specifically highlight the beautiful pictures that are so important to each of us. Cost: $20.00 (All materials included)
• Class #9 - Designing with Vellum - Vellum papers have a certain amount of 'mystique' to them. Although their qualities are different from the traditional card stocks we are familiar with, they are a wonderful addition to the artist's table. Vellums come in clear, white, assorted solid colors, and printed/embossed finishes. It is a perfect paper media to add to our creative cards, scrapbook pages and party invitations. We will work with Studio II Art Markers, shading chalks, and special embellishments that will make our vellum projects extra special. Learn about the invisible or nearly invisible adhesives to utilize with vellum papers. We will complete three Vellum projects in this class. Cost: $20.00 (All materials included)
• Class #10 - Door County Beach Tour - Come along with the Door County Kids Nautical Stamp Collection to stand on the rocks, touch your toes in the water, and play on the sand beach! We will have fun creating a selection of specialty cards in this workshop - including sand from our own Door County sand beaches. We will accent our creations with Door County Specialty Custom designed metal engraved words, plexi-tags and more! Cost: $20.00 (All materials included)
• Class #11 - Shrink Art Jewelry Class - Roll up your sleeves and get ready to work with shrink art plastic and Door County Rubber Stamps. We will create a beautiful necklace and pin. We will also make up extra shrink art elements that can be framed and applied to the front of a greeting card or decorate a book front. Cost: $20.00 (All materials included)
• Class #12 - Library Pocket Book - We will build a Library Multi-Pocket Booklet in this class. We will be working with Door County Stamp Designs, Exclusive Door County Accent Papers, and a table full of artful accessories to add accents and personalize your own creation! We will create a booklet that will be a joy to set out as a coffee table booklet or, perhaps, give to your best friend! Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #13 - Wrap It Up! - Oh, what fun it is to stamp…….and create your own personal wrapping papers, tags and beautiful gift bag. Roll up your sleeves and expect to mix and match until you have designed a wrapping paper that you will surely want to leave your signature on. We will create a roll of wrapping paper, coordinating tags, and a highly professional gift bag. Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #14 - Personalized Pocket Books - This is a class where you will want to bring your imagination! Our tables will be filled with assorted specialty papers, fibers, ribbons, raffia, and alphabet products, you will create a 12 page booklet. You will go home with a finished booklet that will be so much fun to share with your best friend or family member Cost: $20.00. (All Materials Included)
• Class #15 - Red Hot, Red Hat Ladies! - An Invitation to a Red Hat Party! - You can't put anything past these crazy ladies in Hats! Enjoy a grand selection of Hatted Lady stamps to include Caricature, Contemporary & Victorian Designs. A Red Hat Invitation, of course, will be in the making. Choose from hundreds of 'Red Hat' Sayings to compliment the designs you choose. Learn to stamp on several surfaces to create three attractive cards and your invitation for more fun! Wear your red hat and purple attire for this class and receive a special red hat gift! Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #16 - Pocket Flip Book - We will be creating a spined book that will invite us to add photos, journaling, & stamped art. From creating our original covers to each of the 10 pages, we will be busy coordinating colors, textures, and a multitude of accessories. Each booklet will have a personality of it's own! A perfect gift for Grandma & Grandpa, or your very best friend! Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #17 - Calling All Grandmas! - Would you like to leave some special memories for your grandchildren? This class will get you started by provoking thoughts of years gone by and recording in sequence. This is a 4 part class that will involve scratching the surface of your memory bank. We will create a journal-type booklet that will include details beginning on the day you were born. We will travel through school days, courting highlights, special events, and special family days, right up to the present day. This class will be that of sharing and caring; Experiences and stories shared, are of interest and great enjoyment of this class.Think about your favorites…. People, foods, events, games, happenings from your growing up years. We will work in partners (invite a friend if you wish) and will spend the first two weeks gathering information and facts. The last two weeks will be spent journaling and assembling our books. Bring photo's into weeks 3 & 4. Cost: $48.00 (Includes All Materials, including a Journaling Book.)
• Class #18 - Memory Scrapbook - Create a 6" x 6", 16 page scrapbook, complete with Window Die Cuts, tags, multi-frame dies, and so much more! The book we are working with, is a firm cardboard base that will lend itself to be covered with decorative papers and personalized to each of our likings. This is a perfect sized book to feature a school themed year, favorite sport season, or friendship/family memories. Bring 20 - 24 photos of ONE THEME to this class. • Class #19 - School Spirit! - Let's start your Door County School Scrapbook. We will complete 3 double-page layouts in this class, utilizing the custom School Papers of your choice; Sturgeon Bay Clippers, Sevastopol Pioneers, Southern Door Eagles, or Gibralter Vikings. We will add die cuts, stickers, and custom accessories for each school Get ready to roll up your sleeves and be creative! No two pages alike! These layouts will be all set to insert your favorite photos - whether they are sports, theatre, friendship or graduation related. Cost: $24.00 (Includes all Materials)
• Class #20 - Greeting Card Portfolio Workshop - We will work with the beautiful hand made papers from this portfolio to design a pack of all purpose greeting cards. From Birthday, to get well, congratulations & retirement, we will build a folio to meet your greeting needs. We will share new experiences while working with these homemade papers as our base. Watch the colors and ink saturation differ so from our regular cardstocks. Cost: $24.00 (Includes all Materials including Portfolio)
• Class #21 - The Envelope, Please! - This is a workshop that will send you home with hand made, hand created & designed envelopes! All sizes, all colors!! We will construct our own envelopes that will house every size treasure inside. You will learn to 'face' your favorite designed papers that are too limp to stand alone. You will make 6 envelope templates to take home with for your craft file. Need a special envelope? Make it yourself!! Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #22 - Art Institute of Glitter - If glitter and glitz is what you are all about, roll up your sleeves and dive into our Art Institute glitter class - you will go home with a sparkling affect! The Art Institute of Glitter boasts over 200 colors of specialty fine art glitter for stampers, scrappers, crafters and artists. Discover the different looks of the many opaque and transparent glitters. We will follow Art Instute's owner, Barb Trombley in her special Glitter Video. This is the ultimate finish to a wonderful project! Cost: $25.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class # 23 - Door County Collage & Special Techniques - We are ready to gather our papers, memorabilia, odds and ends, and any doodad you can think of that will sit on our table screaming, "Pick me! Pick me!" to attach to our artful canvas this day. This is the type of class that is always unpredictable and simply amazing! Walking into class, you don't have a clue where your creative mind will take you; walking out of class, your hands and head are full of creative juices and a wonderful finished art piece ready to be framed! You need to arrive at class with an open heart and mind……this extended workshop will be one of your favorite artful experiences! Cost: $35.00 (All Materials Included) Allow up to 3 hours.
• Class # 24 - A Walk in Nature - Here is the perfect opportunity to incorporate the beauty of Door County into your stamped art! We will caravan to a local park where we will enjoy a relaxing nature hike, gathering many elements of nature. We will return back to the classroom at Oscar's and work on our projects of nature, incorporating our findings with the art of stamping. Cost: $20.00 (All Materials Included)
• Class #25 - My Personal Door County Scrapbook - Vacationing in Door County? Door County Memories recorded in your photos? Go home with your finished Door County Scrapbook Pages tucked under your arm! That's right! Grab those photos, and come in for an end of vacation workshop. We will help you design your Door County Pages utilizing our custom Door County papers, die cuts, engravings, tags, and more! Show your friends when you drive into your driveway - the FUN you experienced in wonderful DOOR COUNTY! Cost: $10.00/per double page layout. (All Materials Included)
• Class # 26 - Scrapbooking Made Easy! - Are you still sitting with boxes of photos hiding on shelves in your closet? Well, it is time to get them out and have some nostalgic fun! Pull the photos out, and put the 'scrapbook intimidation' in the closet! Scrapbooking made easy - is just that. We will work with a 12 x 12 format and will build 4 double layouts that will be all ready to set your pictures in place when you go home. No need to bring the photos with you for this class. We will work on layouts - with emphasis on line, balance, color, textures, design, AND speed! Yes, that's right. You will discover that you don't have to spend a day on a page. Let's get started!
